Switching to a new role is a non-linear and often lonely

Switching to a new role  can sometimes be multi-year process. And it can get lonely - with self doubt that can persist even after landing the role.

Hi, I am Namrata, Product designer and former support engineer. Back in 2010, I discovered web/UX design whilst I was fixing bugs in old .Net web applications. I pursued my Masters, but the process of finding the right program was confusing. And the pressure to land a job immediately after was immense, thanks to student loans.

Its 2025 now, whilst college education has been replaced by bootcamps, they still come with a hefty sticker price and a promise of a job, which is not theirs to keep. My hope with Switch, is that people who are curious about new career paths like UX, can get an effective alternative path to education without having to rely on hefty loans.

The Learning Never Stops

The first struggle is landing a job, but even after being in the role for a couple of years, you can feel stuck or your entire industry maybe up-ended by new technologies like AI.

As a designer with close to 11 years of experience, I still find myself scared if I am falling behind. And the hope with Switch is to have a evergreen catalog of courses, brought to you by some of the best creators in the industry, ensuring you never feel out of the loop. If you feel like you we are missing a course you really recommend - let us know!

Building Together: The Heart of Switch

Community is at the core of my mission. The internet can be a wild and unforgiving place, but I have found the design community to time and again come together to help each other. This has been a source of inspiration for Switch. So the hope is you get the opportunity to not just get bulk discounts but find a group of people who want to learn and grow together.
